The third concert in Studio 1 will give instruments that do not play first fiddle a chance to shine. Markéta Sádecká, the orchestra’s violist, and Radomír Žalud, the first double bassist, will play the solos in the Sinfonia Concertante by Vienna native Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf. The programme will open with Mozart’s Adagio and Fugue for Strings. Young Mendelssohn’s similarly conceived and Baroque-sounding Symphony in C minor for Strings will also be heard. The evening will be concluded with Sergey Prokofiev’s extremely witty, playful, lyrical and riveting “Classical” symphony.
